Call for articles for the scientific journal “Albanian Studies”, issue 2026/2


3. The journal STUDIME ALBANOLOGJIKE, intellectual property of the Faculty of History and Philology of the University of Tirana, indexed with DOI, opens the call for submission of manuscripts for issue 2 of the journal for the year 2026.

This issue will be published in December 2026.

The research fields of the journal, in coherence with its title, are:

archaeology and cultural heritage, journalism and communication science, geography, linguistics, history and international relations, literary studies, musicology, arts, and related fields.

Manuscripts should be sent as early as possible to the journal’s electronic address: studimealbanologjike@fhf.edu.alThe first response from the Editorial Board comes 3 weeks after submission. If the paper is pre-approved for peer-review, this process may take 4-6 weeks. The deadline for submission is: 15.10.2026.

3. The journal STUDIME ALBANOLOGJIKE The journal STUDIME ALBANOLOGJIKE accepts scientific articles in Albanian or English, and applies the “double peer review” procedure.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

  • 1. Manuscripts must be submitted in Albanian and English. Both in hard-copy and online format, articles will be published in Albanian and English, except for specific cases when it may be published in English only.
  • 2. The author must send the paper written in their chosen language. Then, after the paper will be admitted, it must be translated by the author and sent to the journal.
  • 3. The journal STUDIME ALBANOLOGJIKE publishes only original papers that bring new and important knowledge to scientific research.
  • 4. Submission of the manuscript implies that the submitted paper has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • 5. Authors are responsible for the originality of the materials they submit. Cases of plagiarism will be reported to both the author and the relevant authorities.
  • 6. The authors will sign a document declaring the originality of the work.
  • 7. The editorial board strongly recommends that each new paper submitted for publication, also have as a reference previous papers published in the journal “Studime Albanologjike”.
  • 8. In addition to the manuscript, each author must also send a short Bio of 150-200 words, where the title or rank, current place of employment, and professional status should be highlighted.

Abstract:(Albanian and English, normal text, Times New Roman, 10 pt.) It must be 300-450 words, and must be presented in both Albanian and English.

Keywords: kyç(Albanian and English, normal text, Times New Roman, 10 pt.), 5 - 7 words that reflect the subject of the paper.

Manuscript (Times New Roman 11 pt., Line spacing: 1.0); 18,000 – 35,000 characters without spaces;

References As described in the instruction for manuscripts

MANUSCRIPT FORMAT

The manuscript should be 18,000 – 35,000 characters without spaces, including the title, summary, text, bibliography, etc. The manuscript should be written in Microsoft® Office Word (version 2003 or later). The manuscript should have footnotes, endnotes, automatically inserted electronically. The page number should be placed in the lower right corner of the page.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

STUDIME ALBANOLOGJIKE is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal; therefore, every manuscript will be subject to a review process. The manuscript will be reviewed by two scientific reviewers, who will not know the name(s) of the author(s), and who will provide their evaluation in accordance with the required academic standards. The author(s) will also not know the names of the reviewers. The reviewers' remarks (if any) will be forwarded to the manuscript's author to make the appropriate corrections. The author must take these remarks into consideration or provide arguments for not doing so. The final decision regarding the publication of the manuscript is made by the editorial board based on the reviewers' evaluation reports.
